Caminando por el bazar del sábado en San Angel Inn nos topamos con un libro que nos llamó la atención desde el principio. A lado de los quijotes, los padrinos y un par de libros de italo calvino encontramos 5 GIRLS by Sam Haskins. Por qué quize comprar un libro de desnudos de los 60's? No lo sé... no viví en esa época y tampoco soy lesbiana sin embargo, creo que hay algo de aspiración. Las chicas que salen ahí están guapísimas y exuden sensualidad sin ser vulgares.

Qué pasaría con Sam Haskins? Por qué después de los 60's sus fotos no lograron capturar ese estilo?

Mi prima y yo ya estamos planeando hacer la versión mexicana de Tarako. En lugar de ser salsa para pasta, será salsa picante. Las opciones de vestuario serán, una túnica Tehuana (como Frida),el uniforme de las meseras del Sanborns, o quizá solo nos pondremos un costal de papas y un sombrero en forma de chile. Ahh...y en lugar de canctar Tarako canctaremos "Taaaaco, Taaco..."

Para que sepan de que estoy hablando, lean el blog de Ricardo. Ahí tiene pegados los videos. O búsquenlo en el Youtube.

No Choice

Polo y Keila

Sí, ya se casaron.Este es un evento más que me demuestra que ya estoy "ruca". La boda estuvo emotiva. Se llevó a cabo en el Museo del Vidrio. Yo no me paré más que para ir al baño y por pastel. Me tomé cinco whiskeys que ni cosquillas me hicieron. A dónde se fueron esos tiempos en los cuales me la pasaba en la pista bailando cumbias, y temas sobre animales (venado, tortuga etc..). Ya ni me sabía las canciones que los jóvenes primos de Polo y Keila bailaban vestidos de traje con tenis o tacones de stiletto.

Y para colmo, se fueron de luna de miel a Nueva York... (wish i was there)

Tim Barber and his Tiny Vices in Mexico

Yesterday after work, my boss invited me to meet a very interesting guy. Tim Barber... When I heard his name, it sounded familiar, but then I remember reading it on some publication. I was right, he used to be the Photo Editor of Vice Magazine plus he had put together a show at the Spencer Brownstone Gallery when I was still in N.Y. We (my boss and I) met him at Proyectos Monclova, a hip new gallery at at the moment looked like the modern "Factory" full of creative types working on different projects (not to mention, that the floor was full of American Apparel merchandise boxes cause Fifi was working on inventory). From there, we took a cab to the Palace of Fine arts, which was unfortunetly closed and Tim couldn't see the Frida Kahlo exhibit. Nevertheless, we strolled around the markets and Tim bought a bootleg of Jodorwosky's El Topo. He looked excited about the junk that was being sold there... Later on, and before the rainstorm we went up the Latin American Tower and afterwards had dinner at Sanborns where Tim had a burger and wanted to buy the beer mug claiming that it had a beautiful print. I must agree that this guy has the eye and the taste... I could tell he loves collecting peculiar stuff.... those are his tiny vices.
